Job Description

You will be a core member of the Product Research Team and will design and lead our statistical analysis efforts. You will work with company stakeholders, including members of the Clinical Research and Commercial Teams, to assure high data analysis standards for each of our core products. In addition to your biostatistics responsibilities, you will also facilitate the overall Product Intervention Science Team initiatives to investigate key program mechanisms and potential user-specific variation for our digital therapeutics. You’ll work with our Intervention Science team and and Director, HEOR and be a key part of leading our Product Scientific efforts.

About the role

You will report to our Head of Intervention Science and work in collaboration with internal and external partners. You will also support Woebot Health’s expansive programs of research for its suite of emotional support products. Towards these aims, you will facilitate the successful execution of several studies.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage your deep statistical expertise to align with company objectives and timelines.
  • Complete analytic plan design, data management, analysis, reporting, and quality control of research results and statistical information, including by extracting data from SQL databases, and documenting code and applicable datasets 
  • Facilitate the success of Woebot Health product research at various stages, from stakeholder alignment on aims, to developing an analytic plan, to executing analyses and supporting results dissemination efforts via publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Help advance the research and science that will differentiate Woebot Health as a leader in the digital therapeutics space. 
  • Build and bolster strong, effective, and collaborative interpersonal relationships with stakeholders.
  • Actively contribute to scientific writing towards disseminating our health outcomes research to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Performance Objectives

  • Within your first 30 days you will 
    • Educate yourself on our live clinical trials, data available, research pipelines, and publications. 
    • Learn our Standardization of Research Processes, including Study Review Board Process.
    • Familiarize yourself with our Scientific Communications Committee process.
    • Familiarize yourself with and regularly use all relevant company / intervention science team platforms 
  • Within your first 60 days you will
    • Educate yourself on our live clinical trials, research pipelines, product research pipeline,and publications
    • Familiarize yourself with Woebot's product and content.
    • Familiarize yourself with past statistical analyses, measures used, and methodologies
    • Develop plan with data science for developing understanding of current data structure and procedures for accessing, cleaning, and organizing SQL data 
  • Within your first 90 days you will 
    • Assume oversight of all ongoing statistical analysis plans and analyses required by product research
    • Implement SOPs that allow efficient collaboration with data science and clinical R&D groups

Requirements

  • Ph. D. or MS degree in Statistics or Biostatistics or Ph.D. in Psychology, Public Health, or Sociology with extraordinary methodological and analytic capabilities
  • 3-8+ years of health outcomes research focused on behavioral health (psychology), digital and/or life sciences 
  • Experience with advanced statistical techniques including cluster, latent, and survival analyses, Bayesian and nonparametric statistics, and conduct of power/sample size calculations
  • Expertise with HEOR analyses such as causal inference, propensity score matching, fine balance, trajectory-based, and sensitivity analyses; knowledge of large database analyses such as linkage with healthcare coding systems (e.g., ICD, SNOMED, MCPS, DRG, CPT, etc.); and cost-related analyses such as decision trees, Markov models, and microsimulation.
  • Proficiency with statistical software programs such as SAS, R, Python, or SPSS and with SQL
  • Experience writing code for reproducible research and with version control of research materials (e.g., github)
  • Ability to communicate research process and results in writing, visualizations, and presentations, both to scientific and educated lay audiences
  • A record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating scientific acumen and query. 
  • Strong working knowledge of behavioral health / digital health / digital therapeutics space
  • Ability to translate scientific issues for diverse audiences

 

Preferred 

  • Experience in analyzing clinical trial data and psychometric testing
  • Statistical expertise specifically for digital therapeutics, medical devices, SaMD
  • Industry experience in pharmaceutical outcomes research, epidemiology, or HEOR
