Senior Product Manager, Microgrid at Bloom Energy

Bloom Energy, a fuel cell company and one of Silicon Valley’s most promising companies, is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Microgrid to join its world class team.  Bloom Energy is a Silicon Valley based Innovation Company. Our fuel cell technology leads the world, and delivers highly reliable, resilient, clean and affordable power.  Bloom Energy Servers power some of the leading companies and organizations in the world including Apple, Google, AT&T, WalMart, The Home Depot, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Kaiser Permanente, Caltech and many others. Our focus in Product Management is markets, strategy, data, and ultimately deep integration, resulting on a more compelling product offering. This position is critical to support our continued commercial growth.  It goes without saying that you must have a passion for products.

Job Description: Sr. Product Manager, Microgrid

Location: This position is based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Determine market needs and practices within the microgrid space, and economic drivers for widespread adoption of microgrids, and regulatory issues
  • Develop Bloom offering for microgrids in commercial and industrial segments

  • Define value proposition including ability of microgrids to generate revenue by providing services to ISOs, RTOs, & Utilities

  • Provide input for product strategy and roadmap

  • MRD and product specifications

  • Manage product lifecycle

  • Develop external partners

Skills and Experience:

  • Deep understanding of the energy value chain and market including generation, transmission & distribution, communication and system control.

  • Basic technical understanding of the building blocks of a microgrid including distributed generation systems and controls systems (storage, generation control, load management, real time optimization algorithms, electricity market participation).

  • Experience in developing successful solution offerings with customers and third party hardware and software providers

  • Eight years of experience in Product Management, Marketing and/or applications engineering

  • At least two years of experience managing aspects of advanced microgrid solutions and integration of components

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to effectively work with a wide variety of customers, internal stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams

  • Excellent organization and analytical skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, MBA strongly preferred
