Android Automation Engineer at Evernote
Redwood City, CA, US
We are a team that is small, moves quickly, and is indispensable in ensuring the quality of our award-winning software that millions of people around the world love and use daily. We’re looking for one more talented Software Engineer in Test to drive Evernote’s automation efforts on our Android mobile platform. We aspire not only to make people more successful by using technology to improve their thinking but also to build an incredible company while doing so.
What you'll do

You work as a core member of a small team, alongside the mobile developers while becoming an authority on the application.
Collaborate closely with PM, QA, and Development teams to identify the best strategies for delivering full functional test suites, performance, regression, and smoke tests.
Own complex automation problems from planning through implementation.
Extend and maintain existing automation frameworks, actively identifying areas for improvement and implementing the changes. Additionally, provide automation analysis and release sign-off.
Configure and maintain the continuous build integration system (Jenkins) to deliver instant result visibility to the project partners.

What you've done

You have 3+ years experience in a Test role.
Designed and successfully implemented test automation frameworks from the ground up, on any combination of iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, or Web.
You gained authoritative knowledge of Espresso, Robolectric, & Jenkins (or similar modern test automation tools), or have written your own automation tool from scratch.
Earned a BS in a technical major, preferably CS.

What you need

You have an ability and willingness to quickly learn new technology stacks and have excellent knowledge of Java (knowledge and experience with Kotlin is preferred).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience testing and developing on Android (preferred, but not required).
Enjoy juggling multiple projects in a dynamic and diverse team environment.
Proficiency in Ruby or Python
