Senior Backend Engineer, Growth at GoEuro

You will join GoEuro’s Growth team, where you will work on a variety of projects that aim at attracting users and making them travel with GoEuro for the first, second and hundredth time. You will work in a flexible environment where we build features that range from optimizing our landing page experience to sending native push notifications to our users to promote partner offers.

We believe that the fuel that drives growth consists of fast, data-driven iterations. We are constantly on the lookout for new initiatives that will make more highly engaged customers choose GoEuro for their travels.

To achieve this vision, you will do the following:

Design and build backend systems and contribute to frontend projects such as our Landing Pages System, Marketing Feeds, ADs System and User Profile, just to name a few.
Produce, analyze and visualize data to enable user level features by using tools like Google Analytics, SnowPlow, Apache AirFlow, AWS RedShift and Tableau.
Work in close collaboration with our Marketing, Product and Design teams to provide the best experience for everyone, every single time.
Contribute to existing systems across GoEuro, whether it is GoEuro’s search or booking products and collaborate with our fantastic engineering teams on a daily basis.
Design, build and operate critical GoEuro systems such as our User Profile.

You Are

Customer focused: You constantly strive to deliver valuable, stable products to the end-user. You always ask yourself “how does this benefit the user?”
Up to code: You have more than 3 years of experience in software development, you write clean, lean, effective code in multiple languages (e.g. Java, NodeJS, C#, …), all version controlled. You pick the right tool for the job and are not limited to a single paradigm or language.
Pragmatic: You and your team take on complex multi-domain problems, analyze, design, build modular solutions, and deliver end-to-end in an MVP, value-first and iterative approach.
Adaptive: whether it be writing a Google Dataflow pipeline or creating Redux polling reducers , you are always ready to read up and adapt.
A large scale designer: You design system with large scale in mind. You optimize for high throughput at constant performance. You take as a given that your software will run in a highly distributed, scaling environment and design accordingly.
A team player: You guide and help your teammates with planning and delivering high quality software and also take on communication across teams
In Growth you would join one of the following teams:

Acquisition: We're responsible for every new user. Covering multiple acquisition channels and growth hacking projects, we ensure that the first experience with GoEuro is one to remember.
Monetization: Apart from our core business of selling tickets we are trying to find out which other products might be helpful to our users and how we integrate those offering the best experience possible.
Re-Engagement: we focus on re-engaging the users that have already used our service, inspiring them to come back and making sure that GoEuro becomes their go-to travel service.
