Head of Operations at GumGum

Summary

GumGum is seeking a Head of Operations, who will be a strong leader on the Operations team, and a counterpart of our Head of Sales to achieve growth and success hand in hand. Your mission is to achieve and maintain a high level of delivery and strategic customer successes, and you will be responsible for managing a team of specialists in project management, digital advertising operations and creative design.

This role also collaborates closely with experts and leaders at GumGum U.S. headquarters and international offices, and owns the management and evolution of our entire advertising operations (including direct and programmatic).

The ideal candidate has a very strong ad tech background, is a strategic thinker and comfortable working across a variety of platforms and systems. This person is a solutions-oriented problem solver, who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get to the right answer or resolve an issue and is focused on performance driven outcomes for our national advertisers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of GumGum’s advertising products and technologies, supporting direct and programmatic sold campaigns
  • Works with Managing Director and Head of Sales, to create locally relevant operations strategies, including execution and adoption of new products and services
  • Works with experts and leaders at GumGum U.S. headquarters and international offices (Account Management, Ad Operations, Creative Design) and implement best practices
  • Understand our customers’ needs and maximize our operational excellence and customer service, and aim to serve and delight our customers through delivery
  • Knowledgeable of ad industry trends to capitalize on revenue opportunities
  • Attract, retain, develop and motivate the team, exhibiting leadership skills to nurture talent and provide development guidance and career planning for each individual team member
  • Push for consistent process improvement and set relevant policies for the team


Minimum Qualifications
 

  • BS/BA or equivalent in marketing, business, technology or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in an advertising project management or operations role for digital media
  • Deep knowledge of digital advertising business and ad serving (direct and programmatic)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
  • Enthusiastic, professional demeanor and experience working in a client-oriented setting (internal or external)
  • Native level Japanese and business level English
  • Proficiency in office software and business tools (Salesforce, JIRA, Slack, etc.)
