Global Head of Business Development at Uber
San Francisco, CA, US

At Uber, we ignite opportunity by setting the world in motion. We take on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters get moving in more than 600 cities around the world.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s move the world forward, together.

About the Role

As Uber’s Global Head of Business Development, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver on the vision and strategy of Uber’s Global Business Development team. The Global Business Development team’s mandate covers Uber’s core Ridesharing business, our New Mobility organization, our Payments-related partnerships, and other strategic relationships.

You will be responsible for building and leading a global team, developing and advancing key relationships, and crafting and executing a plan that allows Uber to leverage BD in service of: (1) accelerating growth in Uber riders, (2) increasing the supply of transport available on the Uber platform, (3) capturing new green space for Uber, and (4) improving the health of our P&L.

You have an excellent ability to think strategically and analytically about business opportunities, as well as a strong record of driving high-value partnerships with large, important institutions across the globe, spanning both public and private sectors. To succeed in this role, you will need a keen sense of responsibility and an ability to inspire.

What You’ll Do

  • Set a clear vision for how Uber’s Global Business Development team can help Uber deliver on its mission of igniting opportunity by setting the world in motion
  • Use inclusive leadership skills to build and grow a globally distributed team of BD professionals
  • Develop Uber’s global partnership roadmap and a strategic plan for BD that identifies and prioritizes the key markets, verticals, and opportunities best aligned with Uber’s overall company strategy
  • Execute on Uber's top partnership opportunities by working with key internal stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Operations, and Legal
  • Identify specific partners to approach, cultivate the requisite senior relationships, and effectively communicate Uber’s value proposition and potential partnership opportunities
  • Prepare and present business reviews to Uber’s Executive Leadership Team regarding progress and roadblocks to increasing adoption of Uber by riders and transport partners
  • Handle a high volume of engagements and thrive in the fast pace of our company without compromising on an ability to dive into the details and finer points of deals
  • Anticipate challenges, remove blockers, and create the set of conditions necessary for the success of every member of Uber’s Global Business Development team

What You’ll Need

  • Approximately 20 years or more of relevant BD experience, with over 10 years managing large deals and teams
  • Experience with establishing, maintaining, and leveraging C-level relationships at partner companies
  • Ability to fuse business, strategy, finance, and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted deals
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Very strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Deep experience working with technology companies and extensive senior relationships with business leaders across the world’s leading tech and mobility companies
