About the Role

 

Chief of Staff will partner with Head of Uber For Business and Uber For Business leadership team to drive operational excellence and efficiency, supporting an effective operating model, creating frameworks for collaboration across multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams, facilitating organizational communication cadence, and providing strategic oversight and guidance to organization-wide plans and projects. This is a critical role to ensuring the Uber For Business Leads are able to execute on key initiatives that will impact the global organization.

What You'll Do

  • Drive cross-functional process around defining, prioritizing, creating action plans, and monitoring progress on strategic projects for Uber For Business
  • Develop strategies in partnership with leadership team to drive effective cross-functional and cross-collaboration alignment
  • Actively participate in creating and delivering key updates for Dara, C-Suite, Executive Leadership team, Uber For Business team, cross-functional teams, and external audiences
  • Focus on troubleshooting; turn nebulous problems into practical solutions, lead and manage strategic projects
  • Identify and take on ad-hoc strategic projects - everything from defining new opportunities to executing cross-functional initiatives, and closing the gaps in business and operations
  • The Chief of Staff succeeds at facilitating the Uber For Business leader’s vision (and tangential visions) while enabling other members of the leadership team to work together and get decisions at the top made faster.
  • Help build a successful and healthy organization:
  • Informally lead and develop employees across the team, impacting the people goals, especially around team dynamics, hiring, role clarity, org design, etc.
  • Manage the Uber For Business team operating cadence at the highest level to ensure all hands, leadership meetings, and other structures are appropriate and facilitate effective and timely communication
  • Drive the priorities of the Uber For Business leadership team by setting agenda for weekly meetings, shape off sites, communicating priorities to the larger organization, and identifying opportunities to increase leadership team effectiveness
  • Drive communications with broader leadership team, including but not limited to scheduling and planning all-hands meetings, developing and implementing strategic messaging for email communications
  • Partner with the key partners to Uber For Business across HR Partners, Recruiting, Finance, Policy and Communications, Ridesharing Leadership, and others to drive effective collaboration and delivery of work
  • Regularly interface with the leadership team and communicate pertinent information across all functions/teams, as well as identify the overall needs of the Uber For Business Leadership team, marshaling appropriate resources, and ensuring that priorities are managed through to conclusion.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of onboarding programs for new executives

What You'll Need

  • An extremely organized critical thinker - your project plans are always detailed, up to date, and digestible, and you’re comfortable setting and holding people accountable to deadlines
  • Passion for operational excellence and the ability to drive work through principles, frameworks, and prioritization
  • Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information
  • Undergraduate degree from a top school, with demonstrated strong academic performance
  • 5-7 years at a leading investment bank, private equity, consulting firm, or tech company in an analytical role
  • Highly analytical with strong financial modeling and complex problem solving skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills who can frame problems clearly for a variety of audiences
  • Strong ability to collaborate with and present to senior executives as well as diverse set of stakeholders
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams (business development, legal, finance, accounting, etc.)
  • Ability to be independent, multi-task, and deal with time pressure in an unstructured environment; ability to work through uncertainty
  • SQL capability or willingness to learn is a plus
